Yep... you read that correctly. Big bad boy 200x4 Class A/B amps with full SAX-100.4D style crossovers.

Stable to 1 ohm mono / 2 ohms bridged... can power a whole system.

These things are MASSIVE... I know the trend is for small amps but I like big amps, and so do alot of people still :)

These are not made for typical daily installs... they are made for BIG builds!

* It is actually larger than an SAZ-3500D.

* Another shot vs. SAZ-3500D

Before anyone asks... there is no ETA, I don't know when I'm going to open a pre-order, and pricing is not 100% set.

I do expect pricing to be about like the SAZ-2000D, though... give or take.

  • Hey Jake Couple small things I'd like to comment on, these are all in good spirit ! Test the pre-finals (sorry, can't find the english term for them) and if they heat up too much move them either on

  • VERY hard to actually double the power as you half the impedance. Twice more current needed and the rail voltage drops, hindering the actual power output.

:pornsmilie::droolcup: I want this amp, would be great for my pa setup.

Did not expect you to make it, but nice.

oh noz broken pics.

edit: never mind fixed it self.

sexy as all ways jacob, are there any more power output specs?

Edited by gcs8

That thing is just huge. One of the biggest 4 channels I've ever seen, if not the biggest. I'm with gcs8, can you give some more specs, power, terminal sizes, real length x width measurements. I still haven't completed my other two setups, but I have a '78 El Camino that's begging to be completed and I planned on going a little crazy with the stereo in it. This would help it =crazy in a heartbeat.

Damn that thing has to be huge. My SAX 100.4D is pretty damn big!

nice looking amp. i remember the old days of the tailgate sized amps (VLX400 anyone?). bigger can be better

im still waiting to see something from you comparable to the memphis belle. i know you could do it right, just dont know if there is enough demand for a big 5 channel

a 5 channel would be neat but i might just get it to make it in to my bedroom sound system if he did make a 5 chan.

Big and Beautiful! I want 1!!!

What is the bridged output?

Beautiful work as usaul Jacob!! I shall give you alot of my money someday....

This one is nuts. I have my gains turned almost all the way down on the 100. It's going to definitely require multiple speakers. Although I could definitely see running the front channel for the front stage and then bridging the rear on a sa8. I forgot is the sax one ohm stable?

I'm assuming 100w per channel at 8ohm? If so, I need this now. haha

The 100.4 is already huge, but this one ...Damn

It must be a beast !!!

The price will be certainly high enough to understand that's not a typical amp !!!:peepwall:

very spectacular amp!!!!!!!!!!!! i love you

power at 2ohm stereo?

but...i love 2ch big amp....news for this???

Hey Jake

Couple small things I'd like to comment on, these are all in good spirit !

Test the pre-finals (sorry, can't find the english term for them) and if they heat up too much move them either on the heatsink with the rest of the transistors or add some small heatskins. 5 degrees difference between them and the amp will not work right, they are crucial.

CIMG4039.jpg

Test the thermal protection circuit. Move the NTC on a small aluminum board and warm it up gradually. Too many amps have problems with this, some come with badly calibrated sensors from the factory.

It's a Class AB, it runs warm by default. Change the transistor insulators to mica instead of the silicone. The difference is huge and the more heat you can transfer to the heatsink, the better :)

Again, this is all in good spirit, I'd love such a big power 4 channel :)

i take it there is no onboard fusing?

What would ideal recommended fusing be.. 200A probably?

You aren't by any chance making this 18v capable are you?

None of our AB amps run on 18v.

I'd suggest 200-250 amps fusing... maybe 300 @ 1 ohm each channel.

ok so i haft to be the stupid noob hear but, why do none of the sundown AB amps work above 15V? diff V-regs?

Pic next to a 100.4 ?

Damn, I just installed 100.4 and 125.2 last weekend, I think once I get too used to the power on my boys I might think about grabbing this one

measurements would be nice.....
