With just a mere use of the search function you could have come up with this.

What sub is comparable to the sa-15? And will two ported with about 1700 a piece produce better results that four with 1k each?

It has no competition it is the be all end all of subwoofers! :P

Each subwoofer has its own characteristics and sound. It comes down to install and end user. Trying to compare to another brand is difficult.

i wanted four 15" cvx's sealed in a trunk car but if i could get louder and sound better i will go that route and the kickers and dc lvl 4 xl's was at the top of my list

Why do you feel the need to run that much power to a 600W rms rated woofer?

SA15 and lvl4-XL are 2 totally different designs

DC lvl 4XL is a high power, high output driver that will be considerable more in price.

SA-15 is a low power daily driver. But it can produce impressive spl.

good sounding

loud (potential to produce good numbers)

x2 15"

$350 max

4 cubes ported

at least 1500 rms

as for other materials...im starting fresh so none as as of yet

Then SA-15 should fit your goal and produce both great sound and #'s. People have done amazing things with the SA-12 as far as #'s.

The SA-15 can go in a smaller enclosure than 4^ft3 so that will fit your enclosure requirements and with a MSRP of $285 it fits the budget.

it's rated for 600, i would do that. but there are variances with your box that can change that number. it's going to depend on your install.

:morepower1: =play louder

:morepower1: = blown sub.

I doubt you'll hear a difference between 1000 and 1700 anyways. Usually takes double the power to make an audible difference.

By the way, 4 cubes ported seems a bit small for 2 15s. For me, I'd go 7-8 cubes ported for 2 15's.

Sa-15s will blow kickers away if you install them correctly.

I would suggest just getting 2 sa-15s. An sax-1200d or saz-1500dv.2 and it will be plenty loud.

what the max power the SA's would take daily?

Real world I wouldn't go over that by much. Basically it is a install dependent (strong electrical, correct enclosure, gain setting etc.)
