I've had my dealers asking me for years for a shallow component set so I started on one... here are some sneak peeks of the first sample set. We are testing them in Nick's car since he is a big SQ guy :)

They are VERY shallow and will fit in any application I can imagine. For a driver this shallow excursion is not bad; obviously not a super high throw driver but crossover over steeply at 80 Hz will do nicely.

So far we've tested the mid and we are very pleased for the depth and cost...

Overall set price would be under $200 from an authorized dealer.

We have a good bit of testing and tweaking to do to get them market ready but so far I am pleased for a first sample set. We'll keep you guys updated as always !

Physical comparison to the Hybrid Clarus tweeter that Nick has been running :

Similar form factor - obviously much different designs inside. HAT is on the right.

Looking forward to your testing results! Sundown is allways creating!! :drink40:

I wouldnt mind a pair in my car to go with the SAX-125.2

:sleepwerd4: Good luck with the set, I'm also looking forward to the test results and the time when you go for regular (non-shallow) components as well.

We got the tweeters in -- active at the moment -- sound is awesome for the expected price point. Next we will test the passive crossovers.

those look great!!!!!!! id love to test some out for you :P

Yes yes yes yes.....Jacob we have been waiting ooooooooooohhhhh so patiently for these.... :dancing: :dancing: :dancing: :dancing: :dancing:

:woot: Any idea of an ETA for these and a power rating? I'm also curious as to the development of other components in the future?

SUNDOWN FTW!!!!!

this is awesome! :dancing: you guys gonna be looking into some other size components/coaxials in the future?

great looking set there...

Did Nick get another car? That doesn't look like the Lexus.

That's a CRX by the looks of it :)

With the stock mounting plate in a CRX, the distance from that to where the window is when it's down is VERY small, so these have to be tiny. Any exact measurements of them? I want to see how they move.

Yah - Nick is now the owner of Raymond Farmer's CRX - which I got from Ray originally to use for myself... but now Nick has it to promote Obsidian Audio. Was one of the loudest CRXs in the world.

Awesome job guys! You wouldn't happen to be making one of those sets in 4" size would ya? I would love a couple pairs of those for my Bimmer. Focal & Morel are the only sets that I've seen that will fit that I know of...

Oh by the way Jacob I need two sets of these and half a set of a 5 1/4 set like YESTERDAY......hahaha awesome dude....I'll be at the front of the line for the pre-order :dancing: :dancing: :dancing: :dancing:

Any specs available yet? Would like to try a set.

These look great! Cannot wait for more testing and eta.

it's about damn time this finally happens!

i've only inquired about it like 2 years ago haha

EDIT: would push terminals be out of the question? i cant stand spade terminals

^ this! And very long leads off the Tweeter.

Hell yeah. With decent(flexible) speaker wire.
