Never had SSA and just ordered 2 ZCON 18s. I have friends with evils and was wanting to know the difference. I know they are both monsters.

Thanks.

I have never used a evil but I have had a zcon 12 D2 running on 1500 watts rms in a jeep liberty and I was impressed with it.

Thanks for picking SSA.  Both are excellent subs, but the goals vary some.

Mark was doing 149's on music with a pair of Xcon's in a tiny box with way too much port in the Santa Fe (which is not the best vehicle to get loud) and he needed more batteries.  So a pair of Zcon's should be good. wink.png

I am one of the fortunate few that have used both. I would say the zcon is king for an all around daily driver if being loud is the main goal.

I've used both, and imo, the evil is more of an Low end monster whereas the evil will exceed in the upper freq range. Obviously most of this is driven by enclosure design and many other things. The evil sound surrounds you whereas the zcon will punch you in the face.

If you have it...but the ZCON is a badass and can handle a ton of power too.

Yeah they are both great drivers, just at different price points, with different goals.
