There is a whole lot of shit talking towards SSA from people that are brand new here. If you had been around longer you would see what Mark/Aaron are all about as well as SSA.

"A watt is a watt" is the wrong way to word what you are trying to express. What you are trying to ask is if there is anything intrinsic to an amplifier or amplifier design that would inherently make two otherwise identical amplifiers "sound" different. The important performance characteristics of an amplifier can basically be broken down to: Power, gain, frequency response, noise, and distortion. There are no other mystical properties to an amplifier itself (other than built in processing features such as crossovers, etc) that will affect the sound. If two amplifiers "sound" different, one of those 5 characteristics must necessarily have been affected in an audible manor. If one of those 5 characteristics are not affected or significantly different enough to cause an audible change in sound, then no....there won't be an audible difference in sound from the amplifier. This is includes amplifier "class" (the old A/B vs D debate, etc). You are not going to hear a difference in amplifier class that is not capable of being represented by one of those categories. Some people claim all sorts of crazy things about the intrinsic "sound quality" properties of an amplifier or certain components within an amplifier. All you have to ask yourself is.....Do one of these mystical properties or components directly affect the power, gain, frequency response, noise or distortion in such a way that would cause an audible change in sound? If the answer is no, then what they are proposing is not going to audibly affect the sound of the amplifier regardless of what else they claim. Certainly there are reasons for purchasing a more expensive amplifier. Reliability, features, aesthetics, prestige, customer support, warranty, etc etc. EDIT: And I'll add that amplifiers are fairly well understood beasts. Getting a flat frequency response and inaudible distortion is a fairly trivial task. So really, unless the amplifier was either intentionally designed with a non-flat FR or they simply cheaped out on design, most differences in amplifier "sound" are going to come down to a difference in power output or system settings. There's no reason to purchase an amplifier based on "sound characteristics". Purchase based on power output, build quality, features and your budget and customer service/warranty requirements.

I deal with Aaron and Mark on a day to day basis with SKAR, and some other things as well. We have had a great relationship and I will prove to them that it will only be a greater relationship as things go on. There are some issues that need to be resolved which is why after talking to Mark in person I have decided to close down 1800Woofers and get things under control as far as Customer Support goes. I think this thread can rest as the customer has been taken care once and for all. I hope those of you who think otherwise of me can see in the years to come with SKAR and SSA that it is a good , solid relationship. Taking a step back from retail with other brands and focusing on SKAR will ensure that the ideals of the SSA community be met as Denim and Mark LaFountain have stressed to me how important it is.

this is awesome to hear. as for all the "shit talking" talking towards SSA... I think you need to go back and read the whole thread. I dont think ANYONE down talked the forum directly, just the decisions made keeping 1800 woofers on there site, that is all. No one asked for SSA to do anything, they and I stated our opinions on kevins company and expressed how we didnt think kevin should be allowed to advertise or sell or whatever, not just keep representing this sub par company. and steavmeade for all the "new" people coming around talking shit? Really? Gonna pull the newb card dude? granted my membership is new and i have a low post count, doesnt mean im new to anything, anyone with any experience should know that. ive been a member at ROE since 06' trust me Ive been around. Sorry if my loud opinion offends anyone, Im young and speak my mind, I turn 23 next month. But what denim just posted is exactly what I would of done, and thats exactly what i was "expecting" to be done. Im very proud to be a member of this board. I really dont mean to step on anyones toes, I just thought this forum was better than that. Just so you know, there is no problem speaking your mind here as long as it is civil. We don't delete anything unless something gets WAY out of hand and has totally lost track or purpose. In the past, there has been an occasional disagreement with how Mark and I have run things or made changes to the board. I am able to handle criticism about my site, because to me in my life, I am dealing with things far more pressing and life demanding then conflicts on the forum, so it is easy for me not to sweat it. I can admit, I jumped the gun with Ology Audio, much of the mod staff came down on me hard. We discussed it in a civil manner and figured out the best approach to move forward. I will be taking the 1800woofers section down soon.

I dont think ANYONE down talked the forum directly, just the decisions made keeping 1800 woofers on there site, that is all. I read the thread. Its looks like to me people are blaming SSA for Kevins wrong doings and looking to SSA to fix it. Calling Mark and Aaron sellouts for letting him advertise on their site. THATS BULLSHIT! and steavmeade for all the "new" people coming around talking shit? Really? Gonna pull the newb card dude? Its spelled STEVEMEAD.

Broken to new sounds good. Hottie is "too big" for the new software. When I edited my signature to include a disclaimer so nooblets wouldn't get the sand rubbed the wrong way in their labia I had to remove the pic

Sadly, it does not make sense what so ever, at this time, to be a distributor for Bravox, (though another dealer does not think so). Here is the deal, Bravox is built in Brazil and so their build costs are greater then companies that go to China etc. They are, on average, a higher end brand, and imported higher end brands are getting hit the hardest from the damaged American economy and constant lowering of customer awareness of quality and performance. Now with that said, Bravox had to continue to raise their prices over the last few years to stay in the USA. Well they hit a point where they were not selling enough and ownership decided to return all operations to Brazil. What is happening now, is their American headquarters is closing and we are able to blow out the remaining stock here in the USA. There are a number of models we had trouble moving only a few pair, even with these stupid low prices. Now looking at the logic, to sell the next series models, pricing will have to return to normal, but that normal will be much higher. Reason being is that Bravox is no longer importing product to the USA, so a distributor would have to (raising the price), now you have a distributor in between dealers and Bravox (raising the price), and new products traditionally go up a few dollars every years (again raising the price). All equaling to much more expensive pricing on products that have trouble selling at drastically discounted pricing, and with the brand leaving the continent lowers awareness, promotional, and makes dealing with Bravox much more difficult due to the international issues now in play. That is why it makes no sense to become a distributor for a brand that has struggled in sales the last few years. We sold off a bunch of our stock at our cost to a local dealer a couple of months back. We could become a distributor, but I am not going to tie up thousands of dollars in product that has all the above obstacles and have it sit here for way too long. If there was suddenly a crap load of demand for their products, or our pricing structure change greatly, things could change. But I used this group buy as a gauge to see the viability of continuing to sell Bravox, and it was not nearly strong enough sales wise to warrant continuing on, which is a shame as I have a great business relationship with the North American HQ and they really like us (actually in the middle of an email with them right now), and want us to become a distributor. I hope that was clear enough in my messy thought stream.

Wanted to use up my extra MDF so i made a little box for one of my 12"s, might get an aero port for it later, maybe 40 hz just to see what it sounds like. Not used to sealed, or such a high tuning, so this will be a little test box. I need to take the big box out. It broke all the supports i've got it on. Def. need to beef that up. I have plans with some 2X4s... I wanted to wrap the false floor anyways so this will be good. Sold my AA carbon fiber mids today. Couple days ill get some comps. Im leaning towards JBL 6.5s with the "plus one" cone area design. Anyone have comments on these, or suggestions on a set they have liked? I want to keep it around $100 for the set. Open to a lot really, just need a solid set to get loud and clean. Got some glue and carpet today. Tomorrow i'll cut the speaker hole, run the wire and wrap it. First time for wrapping. Should be fun! Spring break lets me be really productive! AA mids all packaged up. Going to Diablo.

Try going to school first. Learn Some basic business practices. This fool STRAIGHT UP LIES. He revoked Donnies sale on ebay then said they were broken, then sold them to someone else. THAT IS COMPLETE AND TOTAL HORSHIT unacceptable by any kind of business stand point. simple slime ball move. period. that shit is black and white and can be read in ONE thread. Just about to say fuck this forum. Its a shame too, there are some actual smart people here i can learn a lot from. Just shady shit and i dont like supporting anything like that. SSA CANNOT THINK KEVIN HAS ACCEPTABLE BUSINESS PRACTICES, YET THEY STILL ADVERTISE HIS COMPANY. DOLLAR DOLLAR BILLS YALL! Alright, you need to relax. I had been talking to Mark for a few weeks about removing Kevin/SKAR as we were taking some heat for his business practices. Now, we discussed it somewhat, and Kevin is now working to make right what went wrong. I have no problem dropping a company, we have done it a few times in the past. Kevin expressed to Mark that he understood he handled this very badly and now he is working on making it right. I am not defending Kevin, if you want to think of it this way, Kevin and his businesses here are on probation. If Mark and I were all about "DOLLAR DOLLAR BILLS YALL!" this site would be VERY VERY different and neither of us would be working full time day jobs.
