amp question for an FI Q 12

Recommended Posts

ok here is my question can i run 2 amps (mtx tc4001) on a Fi q 12? the amps are rms 600x1 at 2 ohms. i know that the FI's are dual 2 ohm. right now i dont have the cash to buy the amp i want(sundown). the other mtx amp should be here soon but until then can i only run one VC? is that safe? any answers would be nice? my friend has one of the FI Q 12 in his 06 Z71 and man it sounds great... i want that sound

that amp does not seem to be strapable.

so no....

well.. you could get a O scope and try to match power but that would be silly.

also i that amp is a mono block, and 400X1@2 ohms @ 14.3

your right...i might just use the mtx in my wifes honda pilot.... unless you can suggest a nice 2ohm svc or a 4ohm dvc to use...

the Q is a nice sub.... you dont need 1000 watts....

is this going in a truck like your friends?

Wire the cols in series and run the sub on one amp at 4 ohms. When the second amp arrives, wire one amp to each coil of the sub. . .they do not have to be strappable to run two of them on a DVC sub. . .
