how does fi btl compare

Recommended Posts

He will see a dramatic difference going from one 15" 9500 to one 18" Btl.

Assuming he will have enough space for the enclosure

totally agree.

also op, don't be offended because of what i said to you. I only said that because there are lots of people that think they know what they are doing when they have no clue.

The SSD is slightly superior in my opinion. It is more SPL geared than the 9500. With more motor force, and more efficiency. A loaded SSD would not totally obliterate the 9500, but be slightly superior. Comparing the 9500 and BTL is apples and oranges. The BTL is in its own class.

With that amount of airspace, considering you can even fit them in there, they would sound phenomenal. :)

I hate to say it, but you would be better off with 1 18". I am a firm believer in this theory:

If you're comparing the SSDs to the 9500s, and you're saying that the SSDs are slightly superior. Then how is the comparison of the 9500 to the BTL the same as apples and oranges? Are you saying that the 9500s are sound quality subs while the BTLs are spl subs?

Yes, the BTL is in its own brute SPL class. While the 9500 is a high powered SQ driver that prefers sealed enclosures.

Very nice quote from AudioQue duran... I completely agree 1 18" BTL would do better in the cougar...

For the suv 2 15 or 18 Bls would definitely do the job with 2000-3000 rms
