Just rough math .... 30hz tuning looks to be 31.125" length. If you want 32hz you will need roughly 29" so take off 1.25"

Not bad at all!

Once you double baffle it will be fine. If you feel you need more bracing you could add threaded rod or wood dowels without taking up much internal volume.

That design only calls for 3/4". And your going to need to take off more then 1" of port length to raise the tuning to 32hz. From my rough calculations it should be more like 6.75" of port length taken away. Which would put the box at 4.26ft^3 @ 31.86hz.

I am building my first box too but for a Q 18. Where would you find some threaded rods/ wood dowels? Home Depot/ Lowe's? If so how much do they cost? How would i go about calculating the volume displaced by them?

Thanks

Yeah lowes or HD will have it. YOu can also use some scraps of MDF from your box build. YOu want to tie the top to the bottom and the front to the back.

Edit to add if you use scrap MDF make sure to round the corners.

All the way to the bottom right above the pic of the T-Nut.
