How do I turn this feature off?

Every morning when I go to check my e-mail on Outlook Express, down in the bottom right hand corner the AVG logo thing starts spinning and a box pops up saying "AutoPOP3: Connecting to pop.telusplanet.net" ... Telus is my service provider.

It takes five, six, seven minutes + in order to get my e-mails sometimes.

So obviously I'd love to be able to turn this feature off.

Seems to me like AVG is more of a PITA then Norton so far ... but Norton did catch something that AVG didn't catch even with three days of no updates.
