Hello All! I was able to trick Santa again this year, and he kept me on the nice list. With some help from the gents at SSA, he brought me 2 new XCon 12s....WooHoo!! It's finally time for me to get building and put these suckers to use. This will be my first time building a box, but this creates a perfect excuse to buy more tools. I would like to reach out to you guys and get some experienced advice to help in my first quality build The car is a 2008 Pontiac G6 GT Coupe. It has the Bose Monsoon system, which isn't terrible for a factory unit. Unfortunately, all of the cars display features are integrated in the factory's HU display. For this reason I will be k…

Trying to make room for a larger box to fit in from the front of the trunk/rear seat. You can see there is some sheet metal in the way that would need removing. Think this would hurt the structural integrity of the car? Lazy half azz drawings...sry The pieces outlined in yellow triangles will bolt out. I would have to cut my rear deck trim panel up to the red line. The orange rectangle is a slight hump that may limit my height of the box getting through, its probably removable but will not be able to be put back after without welding lol. It may not interfere after cutting the top of the opening. I marked a red line on the back about egual to the red line on t…

Yup, decided id go the other way and make an awesome front stage before tackling the subwoofer stuff first! ive always had different 6.5 comp sets and a sub stage but even with tuning and refining, never felt like you are there at the show front and center. ive gotten the staging close but with active x/o's on a on-axis 2-3 way front stage, i think thats what im really looking for. currently running 01 accord hertz hsk 6.5 comps old pioneer deck, also have a alpine 98-47 that ive had forever. soundsplinter rlp-15 future plans 2-3 way active front stage. ipod/iphone with line driver. or maybe an active deck? us amps md 21 on hertz tweeters 125-200 rms bridged 4 ch. …

  6. Hello everyone I would like to start by saying I have no intention of breaking or bending any site or community rules here so pls forgive me if I do that is not my intention. I am here to share my personal experience with cherrymancustoms who has built me an extremely personalized and truly custom enclosure to meet the needs of my particular listening goals. This man has spent literally countless hours over-the-phone speaking with me one on one in an attempt to maximize my enclosure design and has built what I consider to be a very good quality box. I have attached images for your own viewing and judgement below. His website is www.cherrymancustoms.com/ where he ha…

I'm transferring this over from another forum/ Some things might be out of order. I'm getting the car for next to nothing but it needs some work. So far I have replaced both front control arms and sway bar links. I'm redoing all of the front end (P/S pump, racl etc.) The sway bar bushing look swollen, so those are going to be ordered too. I'm hearing a slight "clunk" when I throw it in to reverse which I believe is either a bushing on the rearend or the flex bushing on the drive shaft. The carrier bearing is new, so I don't think that's it. The car has 209k on it. I'm also going to be ordering new plugs. Service the trans and rearend. I have a fair amount of cosm…

  11. Well, first off. This is going to be off to a slow start. As some of you know, I totaled out my beloved daewoo and did not have full coverage. I was also between jobs when it happened. So I just picked this 2dr, 4wd blazer today, literally. I got it for a good deal. It needs some work, but it'll be worth it. I got some shit to fix on it, A/C, some suspension work, and I think the front axle solenoid is bad, I hear the transfercase solenoid kicking in, but no pull from the front. Few little nick nack things to fix. No biggie, I'm good at turning a wrench. Any way, I'm pretty well broke right now, until I get steady cash coming in. Most likely the build will start with on…

  17. Figured I should start a build log since I've gone through so much trial and error in getting this stereo to sound good. I'm already done with most things but I did take pictures along the way so i'll get that all uploaded when i get photobucket or imgur figured out. I bought my passat almost a year ago, the weekend after black Friday to be exact, and knew immediately that it needed some love in the bass department. I had a rockford p-300-12 powered enclosure lying around that i once had mounted in a big self-propelled sprayer that i basically lived in for 3 summers, threw that in along with a rockford loc, rockford rca's, and some ebay 4ga cca to get it powered. …

This will be incomplete until I catch up with photos. Be patient with me. I am getting my truck painted, upgraded, and of course my sound setup. Plus using my phone to get link codes from photobucket and working 12 hour shifts at the police department takes a lot of time. Stay tuned. Purchased the Truck on June 28, 2014. The truck as it was stock. This was the original hood, but I never took any photos of that side of the truck when that hood was on there. A week later I got a set of M…

  19. So I figured I'd start the build log for this car, Its gonna be a little slow to begin as the first big step for the install is going to be a pain in the ass. For those that were looking forward to the bronco build, and wondered what happened to that.. well the truck was wrecked, and the body work that is needed to be done is now quite extensive. So the work on that will be to bring it back to its original beauty before any audio work is done. The car is an 2013 all wheel drive Chrysler 300 with pearlescent white paint. (uploading picture atm) Already has the Team SSA sticker on the back window (uploading picture atm) My current temporary plans for the audio ar…

So last January I got the new 2014 fusion SE almost all loaded out. I'm doing an audio upgrade but started this week since it's been so damn cold out. It'll consist of: 2 15" DSS Ethos DD m3b Sundown SA6.5 comps (passive) Incriminator IA 3.4 Stock alt (I think 140) Die Hard Platinum G31 2/0 welding supply wire Stock H/U with LC2i I will upload pics later tonight if I get time. I'm finishing the box now. Just putting some extra bracing in then top goes on. Box is 6.5 cubes tuned to 31hz with 2 6" PVC pipes. I know it's not the best but it should do just fine.
