My son and I just got done swapping out amps to power my original Blue dust cap Icon 10. It was being powered by a Zed built Usacoustics USA2150 bridged and rated at 500 watts. I acquired an ESX 275.2 and honestly...I wasn't expecting a huge difference. We have the d2 Icon running bridged mode on the ESX. The rating for bridged mode is 825 watts. Quick rundown of the system..... HU- Eclipse CD8454 running 2 way active. Tweet amp- Usacoustics USA 2100 powering a set of Vifa XT25 ring radiators Mid amp- Usacoustics USA2150 powering a set of ID OEM's in a heavily dampened set of doors Sub amp as mentioned is an ESX 275.2 powering the Original blue cap Icon 10. The sub…

This sucks!! I told the guy at the audio shop to use as much trunk space thats possible for my zcon 15' but i jus picked up the box nd i still have like 3 inches in length in space... Atm its a 4.0cu ft but wouldnt those 3 inches even make it better? Nd its tuned at 32hz! That box cost me 260$ i'll post some pics up soon!

Great sub...I do have a question though. I bought the sub from my son.....he bought it here. We built a 1.35 cube box tuned to 32 hz according to the reccommended box designs. I have been running it off a Usacoustics USA 2150 bridged rated for 500 watts. Probobly a little more than that......It has sounded incredible. I had the pleasure of recently aquiring an ESX Q275.2. Bridged rating is 800 watts. Am I getting close to the power handling of this sub? I have tried to find specs on the original run of Icons but have had no success.

Test tone at 38hz on music, peaked at 44hz. Scores on the left are sealed on the dash and scores on the right are meca (meter was on a stand on the passenger seat) I was pretty happy with no tuning at all really. Wasn't really looking to max out the db's, just wanted a base to test the sp4's against when they come in.

just installed 2 brand new 12 icons. got into an accident and an object broke the plastic face. Is this just a dust shield that can be remover and replaced or patched. or will it need to be sent in to be fixed? i havnt had time to remove it from the box to see more. thanks.

Don't get to excited just yet, we have yet to test this, but here is our next venture. A 600 watt 3" Coil prototype. I'll let Aaron spill the beans on this one. (If he wants)

I am trying to decided between an ICON and XCON 12" sub. I have a 1.1CF sealed box and plan on sending 1200W RMS to the sub. Which driver is a better fit for this power. I like the XMAX gains when stepping up to the XCON, but I am just not sure if I can make use of that excursion given 1200W. Thoughts?

Well I think Im goin to go with a Zcon 18 for my trailblazer. I have enough room for the 18 but what would be best for the box size and tuning. I know 6 to 8 cubes is optimal with 31-37hz tuning but what have you done or do you think is the best? Also how should I have the sub and port face? I'm pretty sure sub up port back. For amp and electrical, I have a crescendo BC2k and a deka 9a31 in the back. I'm not going for numbers, just straight daily. I listen to mostly rap and that's what I want it to sound best with. My max dimensions are 46w x 32.5d x 20h. thanks in advanced and if you need anymore info please ask.

I have a 2003 trailblazer lt, not ext, and I was thinking about runnning 2 18 xcons. Not a lot of people are running 18s in trailblazers because of the limited room in there. Crazycricket12 on smd forum gave me dimensions of his box. It's 21h x 45w x 30d. He's using the torres box calculator. The box has a square port in the middle of the box facing back hatch. The dimensions for the port is 10h x 10w x 12L. It says port area is 100 ft2 with tuning at 32.75hz. The total net volume only excluding bracing is 12.41ft3. Would this work??

I have 16.72274606 cubic feet available (calculator copy/paste ftw). I want new subs. I can do 4 15" Dcons sealed...Idk about ported. I could squeeze 2 18" Icons ported, or easily seal them. I could port an 18" Xcon. Mainly I'm wondering how much I lose by going sealed. So Dcons or Icons do well sealed? Throw some ideas out there!

Back in Oct. 2010 I had a box designed for an 10" Icon at that time which I became pretty busy and never got a chance to buld it or buy the sub. Since then I've noticed the Icons been revised, I'm wondering if I should get a new box designed or if the new icons are pretty much the same as the old icon specs that the design I have will be fine??

Hey, what would be an appropriate ported box and port length for 2 Dcon d4 12"s. I have ~ 1000 watts coming from a Rockford Fosgate 1051s. I did see the boxes listed in the tech section. I just wanted to make sure I read it correctly.

I'm been thinking about getting some new subs. I currently have a single 10". I'm looking for sound quality but wouldn't mind something louder. I have enough room for some 12's in the trunk. I love the sound of sealed boxes. I drive an old card though so I know I wouldn't be able to push more than 1 icon without multiple batteries/alternator upgrade. Having heard neither the icon or dcon in person i'm wondering how they compare in both spl and sq. I hear the icon is a great sub but if the quality isnt that much better than a pair of dcons, i dont know if i can justify twice the wattage. Either scenario will be upgrade from my current. Just looking for some opinions from p…

I recently picked up a used 12" SSA DCON and finally was able to find time to install it this last week. In this installation, I am running: Subwoofer: 12" SSA DCON single 4 ohm Enclosure: 2.00ft^3 tuned to 31Hz with a 4" aero port Amplifier: MB Quart DSC1500.1D at 4 ohms (375rms) I initially had low expectations, as this was my first single 12" installation. In addition, I have never used a low-power "entry class" subwoofer. After listening to this little guy for the last week, I must say that I am VERY impressed with its output and sound quality. I did a direct swap between a 15" Fi SSD and this 12" SSA DCON. The Fi SSD obviously gets louder, but the 12" SSA DCON is de…

So i was waiting patiently for the Xcons to arrive. After working for 26 hours i had to stay awake to make sure they made it into the house safely. Of course i got the same ol' thing from the driver, "This thing is heavy as hell" talk. As i put down the second sub i noticed some prick penetrated the box!! In any other scenario this would be normal but not this time. This is what i saw... My first thought was,"OH SHIT!! that better have not gone through the surround!!"
