Im wondering how a Xcon will perform with 35hz tuning. I know its a little above the optimal tuning but since the majority of music doesnt dip that low I was thinking it may be a good idea. Anybody ever tried it? -

does the xcon sound nicer? im assuming so just because its a sq based woofer but i dont know for a fact. and how do they compare in spl? this guy i know has 4 15" dd 3500s with about 1300 - 1400 rms going to each one and metered a 153 on the termlab. would that be a do-able score with 4 15" xcons on their rated 1750 rms? -

I am looking for info about the Xcon subs. Can somebody give me some specs about the Xcon line? I need the weight of the 12 and 15" sub, and I can't find it. I want to compare it to the Icon line. Can we have a comparative description of the 2 12" and of the 2 15"? I have an Icon 15", and I love it! I loved its "light" weight too. But I can't tell for the Xcon, there are not a lot info on the SSA site. Thanks -

Hey guys. I'm still haven't decided on subwoofer upgrades. I was recommended to go with an XCON in my last thread, which it seems everyone here likes them alot. I would only have about 1000-1200 watts to play with, on a good day, So my question would be whether or not the XCON is better for me over an ICON, with that amount of power. I have room to run the SSA small ported XCON 12 enclosure, and could run the optimum ICON enclosure I think. Would I hear a differance in the xcon vs icon in terms of output with that much power? Would it be worth the extra $100 to get the xcon over the icon? -

Tossing a few ideas around for my sub stage and have a question. What would be the best enclosure volume for a 12" Xcon and a TC Sounds 15" PR? The PR will be tuned differently depending on my mood. Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Colby -

While I'm awaiting shipment of the beast I'm working out the design for its future home. It will be going in a center console of a single cab Silverado. At this point it looks as though I can squeeze in 3 cubic ft after all displacements. I'll be running it off a SAZ-2500. I'm wondering what i should tune it to. The suggested range is 29-34. My port area figured up right now will be 40.25in^2. (11.5x3.5). -

Area for box max is like 27x25x21 middle might get 26 but already should be plenty big assume little under will work, will use 4 or 5 4" ports guess depends on effects of more port area on sub from what I estimated if right somewhere between 50-62 for port area, tuning preferred for all around sound and output. Not sure how the speaker will react with a little more box assume it should be ok and went with Zcon just because power is little over Xcons RMS and box from site little bigger. Hoping it helps low end, but any suggestions not sure if the Torres Tuning Calculator is correct and unlike when I lived in N California, there not real shops unless I drive 2 hours round… -
