  2. For box purposes, I am looking to get an idea of the weight of the 15 inch HDC3 and the 2009BL. I know my old BL was around 34 pounds but I know the new ones are heavier. Any info would help. Thanks

Alrighty, I got one of my MJ-18Ms back and now I'm looking to make a box for them for the mini-van. The dimensions I have to work with are 45" wide, 48" deep, and 22" tall. I'll be tuning hopefully no higher than 31 or 32 hz. These will be powered by a memphis 4k. I need to get a box designed by tomorrow morning when I will be starting the build. I have only one day to get this box done, so hopefully all goes well. Subs will be facing up, and I'm guessing slot port to the back. Any suggestions at all? I should have 24 cubes before all displacements at that size, but I'll probably shrink it down. It all depends how well things work out. I will have no time tonight to thin…

  8. Im looking two get two new subs. What would be a better buy. 2 12" Alpine Type R subs (4ohm) or 2 12" Rockford Fosgate P3 subs(4ohm). They are being powered by a US Amps XT2000D amplifier and will be wired at 1ohm. In a sealed box. I am getting both at the same price but i dont know which ones would sound better. And im also looking at getting some new speakers, debating wheter to get the Alpine Type R 5x7 SPR-57C or the RE Audio RE5X7FR. Any help with this would be much appreciated. Thanks

I got a question, everyone says that playing a subwoofer below the port tune will cause the subwoofer to be unloaded, and with too much watts it will "bottom out" is this unloading the subwoofer basically becoming a sealed box with a 4", 5",3" etc hole in it (loss of major amount of bass) , or the unloading making the subwoofer box be like an infinite baffle, decreasing power handling, but increasing efficiency? if it is infinite baffle, would it have a similar 6db/octave (i think this is close) roll off instead of a usual sealed boxes 12db/octave

I have got two '08 L7 12'' coming in tomorrow. I have i built an enclosure that is 4.6 cubes after sub and port displacement, the port is 14.5''H, 4.5''W, and 17 inches deep. i figured the tuning to be about 37-39 Hz is this correct? Did i build a proper sub enclosure for these two? I am pretty sure that i am above the minimum airspace requirement for two of these drivers. i want it to get pretty damn loud but still be musical, i plan on using this for daily as well as a few of the local shows around here this year I dont want to roll up to these shows looking like i havent got a clue(because i dont). At first im gonna be running the pair on 1000 watts RMS, but when i ge…

So I'm going to be using these little monsters in my dad's stereo & possibly in my own. I figured I'd show you guys some pics of them & ask for any ideas. I'm going to give my dad 2 & use 4 for myself. My question is what kind of enclosure should I use. Mainly asking about the 2 for my dad, I have never built for home audio & am working with a fairly large room. The rooms 20 x 14 with a 17 ft ceiling. Just looking for any help or links at all. thanks, nate the army!

Wow, Sorry for the blow up on my last post lol I was trying to find out a little more about the SSA woofers. I read great things about them on these forums, and what Fi has to do with manufacturing couldn't matter less to me. I joined this site after I placed my order for my SSD 10s. I was really not familiar with either companies, but I just happen to stumble across both brands while looking for drivers for my new vehicle. Now, all that aside, not looking for another locked topic. My original questions was how the new G-Cons would compare to the SSD drivers. I know they are new, and there prob isn't much for customer reviews. My main question I was looking for was where …

Ok I have an 06 Scion xB. Not much room in the back for a box. I currently have a Sundown Audio Nightshade v1 and a Sundown Audio 1500v1. I would like to change systems and hopefully get a little louder. I will be going with top of line equipment. IE Digital Designs, Sundown, or PSI. What is everyone's opinion on what I should go with?

hey kids im back, i have a crescendo audio s1500.1 ( one of like 6 ppl in america) that will power the 12. it'll go in a ported box tuned to 28hz and running at 1 ohm. i listen to rap and so-called 'RnB', i also have alota slowed and throwed/chopped songs. for the box, i would like the dimensions to be 13.5 inches high, 13-14 inches deep and 26-30 inches long ( idk what that comes out to) but after displacement i would the sub to have 1.5 -1.7 cuft to itself. nonetheless, the smaller the box the better. i also have a kenwood HU and i know the volume goes up to 34. i would like the sub to kick ass at 14/34 (if that could be done 17/34 would be the loudest i would listw…

I am looking to build a ported box for a pair of rl-i8s. The maximum trunk space I can give up is 37.5x16.5x8.5. Can I build a ported box this small and would these subwoofer be good for this setup? I am also considering useing 2 or 3 Crystal CMP8s. I am looking mostly for SQ but want those extra low tones a ported box can give. Thanks

I was looking at the specs of both subs and they appear similar. I was wondering if these subs are in the same ballpark in terms of goals and design. This is for a daily groundpounder on 1500 watts in a ported box(1.2 cubes) tuned to 33hz and LP at 80hz with subsonic at 30hz/24db. Wondering what the pros and cons are and peoples opinions on which sub is louder and which is cleaner unless either sub is just better in both aspects for this type of set-up. Your opinions are highly valued and appriciated even from those who have no direct experience with both to compare. I listen to mainly house and trance music. Thanks

I currently have a 2005 F=150 Lariat super crew. Im finally have enough money to do what i want with it (thank you afghanistan, nah jk afghan sucks). So far i found the right box for my rear seat without removing the jack. Its a fox box and it has about .80 cubic ft. So i started to look around for a sub that can fit its dimensions. I really dont want to buy a shallow mount sub without listening to it first. Im still in afghan and im wanting to get this by the time i get home. The last sub i bought was a 12" FI Q with an elemental designs amp and that combo was amazing. Im hoping to try something just as good if not better. HU: currently have a panasonic one but looking …
