Posted October 3, 20177 yr Was just referred to SAS by some friends on reddit. Here to learn and seek advice for my ride. Just reading some of the threads and it's apparent there is some serious knowledge here. I'm not sure if I should post my questions in this introduction thread or not, so forgive me if I'm wrong. I'm putting together my second install and this time it's going to be a little better. The first one was Rockford Fosgate using stock head unit. It was for my son's car and it's not too bad. Better than what he had at least lol. This time I want to put together something for my vehicle. I have a 2017 Honda Civic LX. It's a base model. I want to try to stay around $1200 if possible. I'm not really familiar with any of the products sold here. I like to listen to a wide range of genre's from rap to jazz to country to pop and classical. Research I've done has primarily been through reddit and crutchfield advisors. So, that's about it. I'm looking to replace the head unit, front door speakers and upgrade to components, rear deck speakers, sub and amp/s. I'm not sure if $1200 would be enough, but I have some wiggle room. Just beginning the saving of cash now. Thanks for any suggestions. Edited October 3, 20177 yr by landdon
October 3, 20177 yr Welcome to the forum! You’re definitely right about the amount of knowledge available here. Best forum there is and the SSA products are all truly great. I’ve used several of the subs and the mids and have had nothing but positive experiences with all them. They sell quite a number of other quality brands in the store as well. Your budget is a great place to start, though I would HIGHLY recommend leaving or making room for sound deadening treatment. The difference it makes is incomparable to any other upgrade you can perform. Read up on it at the best source for such information, www.sounddeadeningshowdown.com SDS has top notch products but even if you decide not to use his products the information he has available there is invaluable.
October 3, 20177 yr Welcome to SSA! Yes please search before posting questions. Many things have been answered over the years and we have a nice collection of information. You may ask us anything as long as we see your willing to put in some effort. Were not here to tell you how to run your system. We are here to help you make the most of your purchase.
October 3, 20177 yr and dont worry about the rear speakers, just put that money elsewhere and you will thank me later.
October 4, 20177 yr and indeed the rears are pointless. I have an Escalade and even in that huge ass vehicle they do nothing positive.
