can my stock alternater handle 2k rms??

ohm's law says that 2000w at 12.5v is 160a, or 140a at 14.4v. but thats at 100% efficiency, amplifiers normally run around 80% or so.

since your alternator also has to power your car, and your other amps and accessories, youll definately be running short on juice unless you have a decent sized battery bank.

with a couple decent batteries, you could get by for a while. it just depends on how much you abuse the equipment.

or power master or deka... but 2000 watts can be carried by two yellow tops aswell

it states a 140 amps@2000rpms of the alt not the motor... and all alts lose efficiency as they get warm so your really lookin at 100 amps or so hot...@2000rpm... and at 800 rpm is like 50...

what kinda amp?
