ClamShell or 4thorder

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

I'm going to be building up the suburban hopefully in a month and was wondering if anyone could give me some imput on how to tune a clamshell or 4thorder.. I have not got things measured out yet, just wanted to know the process of how to come up with the right tunning..I am leaning more to the 4thorder design, but any help would be helpfull..

Goals?

No goals really, just want to experience a different enclosure for the first time..I see alot of builds going from walls, regular boxes to clamshells or 4thorders.. I have built alot of the same, but none of these.. I did not know for sure what one would be better.. I like really like the lows and i've seen vids of both doing really well..

If you just "decide" to try out a 6th order, prepare to be disappointed. They take a lot of work to get right.

I have been thinking of just building a large enclosure for either 12 or 16 sundown sa 12's.. I wanted to try the other types of builds, but can't seem to get the help I need..

So do any of you think I should go with my new design plans or go with something else?
