subwwofer enclosure placement

Recommended Posts

This is my first install in a four door sedan. So sorry for the noob question :)

I will be using a single 15 in a ported enclosure in my trunk. My question is, will I have a better/louder low end if I have my sub pointed towards the rear hatch or if it is pointed towards the rear seat? BTW there is about 10"-12" separating the enclosure and rear hatch.

Thanks!

I've never had good luck forward firing in a sedan, unless you are actually sealing off the drivers at the rear seat.

But if you have enough room, just try the enclosure in different positions and see what you like best.

Every vehicle is different sometimes woofer towards the hatch and port to the side does the best, sometimes woofer up port back does best, sometimes woofer and port back is best, the only way to find out is to test :)
