I want to upgrade my head-unit I currently have Jensen vm9312 (got a good deal on it from friend) but I want something better

I want a head-unit that puts out good sound quality and offers adjustments. Don't want to spend a fortune but if it's necessary to spend a couple hundred I can save up

I was thinking about the pioneer p8000bt any opinions or suggestions on a good headunit?

Realistically there aren't so many bad ones these days as long as you pick a good brand. That being said, there are a ton of different options in different head units and knowing what/how you'd use it and what you need would really narrow it down.

I had the cheapest most basic Alpine deck made. Yet it worked perfect for what I was running at the time.

Now with a more involved setup, I'm still using a lower line Alpine, and it works well for my purposes.

It all depends on what your trying to do.

Using passive speakers? Need rca outputs for front speakers and subwoofer? Ipod capability? Bluetooth? aux?

The decision will be dependent on what features you require. Pretty much anything from the big 3 will be of suitable quality for a basic HU.

Alpine CDE-123

Has 6 rca outputs; front, rear, and subwoofer

Iphone capable, control through HU.

Add PAC

or Axxess

for steering wheel functions.

Looks like that should do it. Spending around $240.00 total.

I really like this head unit but it says it wont fit into my car (08 pontiac grand prix gxp) due to being to deep. Any other suggestions or can I overcome this problem somehow?
