speaker wire

what gauge speaker wire would be recommended for 4 10" fi bl (flat wind coil, cooling) i have 12 gauge speaker wire but im thinking that that is too small. its kicker shielded wire. would i be able to tie the 2 wires together and double them up to have roughly 8 gauge wire? or is the 12 going to be enough?

ok thats what i though. but i had heard alot of people saying that 12 is too small. would i gain anything by bigger wire? or is it quality rather then quantity?

im going to double up my 12 that i have now. at very least the wire inside of the box is going to be. outside will depend on how much i need in the end. i should have more then enough but you never know till you get started.
