Shipping a Sub

Recommended Posts

Hello all. So I just sold a sub for the first time and I need to ship it safely. Its a 10" Icon and I still have the original box that it came in, I also still have the 4 pieces of foam that were used to keep the sub from moving during shipping. My question is, how do I reattach those pieces of foam safely and securely? I am worried that just gluing them back in place is just not a good solution, I feel that they would come loose too easily. My other thought is to cut out pieces of cardboard/foam the size of the box and stack them until it secures the sub in place. I am worried if I use cardboard there is potential to damage the surround.

So any ideas, suggestions or tips are greatly appreciated.

I use 3M super 77 glue to reattach the foam pieces. It is the same glue I use to carpet my enclosures.

Hot glue should work.
