porting info

Recommended Posts

i am working on a build and would like some feedback/info on my porting.  a have a box that is net 7.5 cu ft. going to run 2 hdc3 15s and was going to tune around 35 hz . i figured on running 2 4inch aeroports and have come up with around 4 inch length on each for this tuning.

does this seem right or am i wrong on my figuring.

thanks a bunch for any info and opinions

2 4" is for like a single 10" sub.

Depends on what ports you're using. If it's PVC or the aeroport company. All depends on what material they use. If you're using a flare it's even bigger.

What you're max dimensions you can use?

I was hoping to use aero ports that are flared. I  can fit a 6 inch port but only have an inch from the hole to outside of the sub. I think I could trim a port flare but depends on the  port mounting diameter

really thinking I should go with a slot port centered in the faceplate. I could do up to 3inch wide 15 tall

yeah after more looking I am going to make a changeable slot port that will be 3inch wide and 12 tall.  this will allow me to make any size up to 14 inches in length.  according to calculators that would be tunable from about 25 to 40 hz. thanks a bunch for your help

Okk here's the best thing to do: take away one sub and use only one. You only have Room for 1 sub.
