Battery options help

Recommended Posts

I currently have a Hifonics BRE1700.1d, I have done the Big 3 to my car which is a 2010 Malibu. My voltage drops crazy fast from 14.6 to 11.6 when certain songs are playing. What I was wondering is if an XS power D1200 would be sufficient enough to use as my battery under the hood? Or should I got for the XS power D2400? I don't want to get a H/O alternator or a second battery for the trunk. Thank you

Get the biggest battery you can fit under the hood. Your gunna have to take measurements probably. But you should be able to hold 12s with the XS

If your stock alternator can't keep up you need more then one battery. Just my opinion.

Need more info about your alternators output in amps.

Get the biggest battery you can fit if you are not upgrading the alt or adding a second battery. Unfortunately the ECM in computer controlled cars regulates the alternator, so sometimes you may only be running on the battery when the voltage meter is showing low volts. As the ECM will shut of the alternator, sometimes at the least opportune times.
