Got my car back yesterday and it runs like a champ. The problem was the ECTS (Engine Coolant Temp Sensor) was messed up even though it was something we had already replaced. Turns out the wiring harness was corroded which was something we missed. It caused the sensor to go bad again. $215 later it runs great. Hate to have payed that much but for a 1 day turn around I am happy. The tech told me that when the engine was hot the car thought the coolant temp was -56*F (yes negative) and it was dumping fuel to compensate and flooding the engine. The car also runs much smoother now.

Yeah from my understanding it doesnt soak up resin neither so you dont have to use a lot of it, I get my info from EpicCenter Designs (thats who told me to use Ponte fabric).

I'm going to go out on a limb and am likely going to sound like a real dick here. You're "new to the game", your own words right? Please listen and answer the questions that everyone is asking you. You're already beginning like a lot of the bunches of the young new members we've seen on come on here who ask a question like this, then totally disregard what gets said and recommended to them. You may have had your mind made up before you asked for a recommendation here because some friends are telling you this sub or that amp or this design is the best, but NO ONE here is going to be recommending anything to you that will lead you wrong, and if someone would happen to the other members would catch and correct it because we're like family here and we do care. Now that the rant is over, how much experience do you have with car audio? I am assuming the RE 5000 watt amp you're looking at is the XTX 5000.1 which is rated 2500wrms @ 1ohm, 1700wrms @ 2 ohm and 1000wrms @ 4 ohm. I also assume that you had planned on running those Powerbass subs wired to 2 ohms on the amp for 1700wrms of power. While that would be a decent match of equipment your planned starting electrical setup will be very marginal at running it. If this is your first system then listen to these guys and do something a little different. I think you could get by spending a little less money and be happier with the results without stressing the electrical system so badly. Lurker had suggested the DCON's or Fi X's, which are both great subs that fall in your budget. They don't require tons of power to sound good and get loud either at 300wrms and 250wrms rated handling respectively. There's also the SD-2 series of subs coming out very soon by Sundown and Ascendant Audio has the Arsenal series subs, both of which are rated at 500wrms or the SA series or DC Audio Level 3's which are rated at 600wrms and a pair of any of those wired to 4 ohms on that amp would be a great match and not be quite as stressful on the electrical either. Do you already own the amp? If so then those are some good considerations, if not then the DCON's or X's would be great on a smaller, less expensive amp. There's so many brands and a multitude of equipment offered by them that it can be somewhat overwhelming when you're looking at new equipment and don't have direct experience with it. It's even tougher when someone recommends something to you that you nor anyone you know have ever used or listened to. I stress though that no one on here is going to recommend anything to you that we ourselves have either not owned, used, listened to or had some experience with and not know it to be a good, dependable, worthwhile piece of eqiupment.

You do realize that more than likely the main reason it sounds like shit is because it was recorded with a crappy mic and being reproduced by crappy computer speakers, right? What you hear is anything but an accurate representation of the actual sound they are producing.

Maybe that's why this forum is dead,that's not advertising he didn't once mention where to buy them,the price or anything. All he did was show some videos of some subs,the owner would get nothing from advertising on this as it is one of the deadest forums there is,beside Soundpressure. If people can't post vids of other subs,then that's just weak,my 2 cents. So you have trolled this forum for only 4 months and think it is a dead forum!! Great i am glad you think so, because i cant imagine when this place is busy!! This forum is THE best for true enthusiasts of all products and the scene. Like Denim stated it isnt chock full of "uninformed" people asking completely off the wall and many times before asked questions. This place is full of knowledgeable people who are here to help and share their experiences. As stated at first it listed where to purchase, or at least how to look them up for possible purchase. I would like to ask you to talk with Jacob from sundown about getting nothing from this site, see how he feels about gaining exposure from SSA. Or alot of the other manufactures, but anyways. I dont want to argue or tell you what to do, but i would advise you take more time to spend on this site and post up a few more than 5 posts, 2 of which were on this topic alone. And get a real feel for SSA then give a true assessment of the site and liveliness. Also just so i can get an understanding, what site would you call booming and worth attending?

Stealth has always preached the 'xx square inches of port area per cube' thing, I've had "discussions" with him about it to no avail. lol im sure you know that is a great guideline right? he will also be overpowering those subs right? so you are saying that under 6 sq inches per could be sufficient???? please tell me 95honda and duran that 5per will suffice..
