2 15 dual 1ohms.... i need to be at 1ohms at the amp

Recommended Posts

ok here it goes... and you know i have 2 15 fully loaded bl's dual 1's.... i have the + from one coil to the - on the other coil... on both subs... then + from one sub to the + on the other sub... then the same for the -... from there to the amp...... i should be at 1 ohms correct? or did i mess up should i have gotten dual 2's

heres why i ask... im sitting some where around .8 ohms.... not 1. not 1.3.. but .8 thats with the resestance of my ohm, meter the resestance of my meter alone is .1...... so by my messed up math that should put me at 1.1... but hey maybe im wrong......

the reason i am so scared... ok here goes

i shopped for months for subs and an amp........ i finaly went with the fully loaded bl's bought a hifonics goliath 5000watt... i put the amp and subs in.. while tuning.. i messed up my amp... every time i turned it near half gain my amp shut off... i sent it to CIA in PA... and thay have been jerkin me off.... i just wanna besure that im not gonna keep poping my amp..... i have spent some where around 3 grand for everything in my car and have yet to hear it.. it has been 9 months! thanks so much for anyones help!

dcr, sure, but unless you are running them at 0hz, that won't happen.

Run them in series/parallel, which is what you described.

ok so what would make my amp just stop working like that? i was running the same amp at 4 ohms... for a week or so on some old kickers, while my subs were being made, any how, like i said i dropped my subs and amp in and while i was adjusting the gain each time i came close to half it shut off.. i did it twice... and then NO MORE!.... i have a 200 amp alt. 3 yelllow tops, all 0 gauge...... and im pretty sure im well grounded,,,,, i dont even know where or how to ground 4 0 gauge grounds.... i just have two 0 gauge thick sheet metal ground... with the paint off of course....

thanks for all the help. i just dont want to get my amp back in from CIA and wire it up and blow itagain, then be left to wait for ANOTHER repair....

i had one thought of selling this hifonics goliath and picking two jl 1000/1's... one for each bl... any thoughts?
