Why would I get a 1500d compared to 2 1000Ds

Recommended Posts

The 1500D being $599 and the 1000D being only $399 means the 1000D costs less per watt.

So why would someone get the 1500 over the 1000?

To get that extra power thats needed without having to overpower what ever they need, buy two amps making a more complicated install, strain there electrical even more, and spending more money overall.

Two 1500D's strapped makes 3000 watts, a full thousand more then two 1000D's strapped.

Also, the SAZ-1500D is Sundown's competition grade amp, and the SAE-1000D is a lower line of amps made for the entry level.

The manual states that the SAZ-1500D is rated at 0-18V operating voltage. The SAE-1000D is rated 10-16V.

And although warranty only covers down to 1 ohm, the 1500 is safely stable to some pretty low loads, but I wouldn't run the 1000D on the same loads.

In other words, the SAZ-1500D is way overbuilt. Don't get me wrong, the SAE-1000D is a very well built amp, but not to the obscene standards of the 1500. So, if you're going for every last watt out of the amp, and you've got a fully built 16V charging system, and your system is wired for half an ohm, the 1500D is what you need. If you're only going to be street beating, you don't need the 1500D for reliability, and the 1000D should last a long time.

I hope this makes sense. :)
