Hi, im new to these forums, i say i like a lot of what i see! specially the people who have the sound splinters, i have some questions to ask you, but anyway, here is my setup.

4 Kicker CVR 15's (soon to be 2 18" XXX's)

1 1501 BD

Pioneer 6x9's

Pioneer 240RMS amp powering my 6x9's

Alpine 9827 (I just got it 3 days ago and i love it so much, maybe children are in our future)

The site hasent been updated, but the box is 14.7 cubic feet tuned at 35hz

Ive been thru 1 windshield, baught a new one about 2 months ago and broke off my rear view mirror again AS soon as i got my alpine HU, on the way home it flew off...

THe aerostar is having some problems and anyways the next thing on my agenda is buying a ALT from dom . 300 amps for ya? Yea i think so, this will be sufficiant to push what i have planed for my spacious van

1 XXX 18 every 2 weeks

And i need to decide weather i want to use powered4sounds snail shell (2 of them with 2 18 XXX"s would be just massive LSQ) Or build my own box like i did this time.

Well, i wanted to know if the sound splinters even compare to the XXX. Im talkin BL and all round out put. If you havent heard a properly powered 18in XXX in a ported box, then i dont think you can help me. Only people who have heard both subs can really comment on what i need to know =/

Btw, FUC* SPL i want a loud ass street bumpin car that can do 146+ on the new term at 30hz. Theres a lot of things i want i will get like i said, only time will tell.

the sound splinter rl-p is really close to a brahma in terms of BL...not for sure of actual numbers...

what i can tell u is this....

my 12" rl-p in 1.25ft^3 sealed getting 750wrms from a hifonics amp being sent signal from a bs factory h/u is one of the loudest, lowest hitting subs i have heard..especialy considering as u turn up the volume, the factory pos cuts out the bass to save the factory speakers..

all ss subs are underrated for power as mike is a cautious guy....

i know weight means little..but my rl-p 12 weighed in at 30 pds...my 15 treo ss's only weighed 22. they are little monsters..that is for sure...

also, ss doesn't make an 18...15 is as big as it gets........for now muhahahahahaha

I wish mike were here to clear some things up. Or maybe even give us a go for Sound Splinter 18 INchs in the near future. I still have 1 month to decide if i want 4 SS 15's or 2 RE xxx 18's.

there are some rumors..but they are just that for now....but could be confirmed in about a month...hehe...just hold on...

even though i've never heard a xxx..from what i've read...i'd put a rl-p 15 up against a xxx15..i think it would be an awesome head to head....

i think the xxx might have more power handling from what i've read, but then again, the rl-p's have taken three times their rating in smaller enclosures..so it would be interesting to see...

rl-p15 BL 21.54 with an xmax of 24.6 mm and a 500 wrms rating(underrated)

xxx BL 17.1 with an xmax of 32mm and a 1600 wrms rating(underrated i'm told)

so on paper the xxx wins 2 outa 3 that most people look at...

The four 15s should have the displacement advantage, however, you know the results are going to be different being as how they will all require different apps, or will be put in. My personal choice if looking for 18s would be the SXs. Little cheaper, can get loud and will require less power.

i need to hear a xx and a brahma.....thought i was going to get a chance at the brahma(thanks trixter), but my money problems(damn groin pull!!) an dnow the fact they cancelled the show...it isn't going to happen..

as we all know...what's on paper means little unless installed properly...in the case of xxx ve rl-p in proper enclosure's=toss up...

the rl-p's just don't need much power compared to some other subs to get where they are going..

the xxx seems to take all the power u can throw at it...which can be good...

i dunno.....i'd say buy both and do a review...lol

And yea.. 151.9 is FREAKIN SO LOUD ON THE NEW TERM.

Everybody who says they can do a 150 is absoutly wrong unless they have a score sheet from there contest and is on the new term.

But yea, those MT's made my 4 15's look like 1 10 =/

In the other hand, they had INCREDABLE low tone output, i mean INCREDABLE.

This is all i ask from a speaker is to have a extremely high out put and play low. The x-max is a kick ass thing to look at tho
