I need a sub that will hit loud and low in an IB setup.

Recommended Posts

My trunk is around 12.5 cubes. I can fit either 1 or 2 12's on the baffle board. 1200 watts RMS is what I'm working with. What do you guys think?

Also, do these setups still hit low and loud?

1200W RMS is way more than you'll need.

After hearing an Icon IB, I'd have to recommend it...maybe a Creative Sounds driver as well.

Do you remember how it was setup?

It's in the SSA Camry thread.

Extremely low, loud is relative. They get loud enough to be realistic :)

Anyone have a link to the camry?

1200 watts is WAY too much to be thinking IB.....as enclosure size goes up power handling goes down, but low end responce is better.....IB is one of, if not the best for low power and still get great low end......I know the Camry can go low and stay extremely linear......no it won't turn heads but inside the car it VERY nice.

Thanks for the link. I may have to look around more. I need something that will shake my car more than what I have now. Current setup is 2 ED 13ov.2 in 2 cubes sealed.

If you're just looking for something to shake the car, IB is about as far from what you want as possible...

Thank you. I was hoping that wasn't the case, but I guess shaking requires giving up my trunk space. No harm in hoping.

Have you not though about doing IB with the two 13Ov.2s??

If you want more output than port those subs.

x2. Port them for more output. They also do well in IB.

My trunk is to small to port my current subs.

You've tried yours that way??

As Jim said, Loud & IB do not go hand in hand actually quite the opposite.

If you want more bass you need more space.

Depends on the definition of loud too... I've metered @ 136dB @ 30Hz legal w/ a TL, which is plenty loud in my books.

No i havent ran them IB but have read about a guy on team Zapco who competes in SQ and runs a 13ov.2 IB and does really well.

Also i agree loud and IB dont go together. I was just addressing the original question about if they'd be good for an IB application.
