how do i pre drill holes.?

i have a basic idea but i dont know how deep and which pieces to do...and what size of bits to use..please excuse my question..never built a box but plan to .hopefully before my 16th birthday!!!..but yeah thanks.

Drill as long as the screw is + a bit more and use a bit the size of the shaft of the screw or a little smaller and if your using MDF whatch out it splits easy.

use a drill bit slightly smaller than the shaft of the screw and don't just ram the drill into

the MDF...let the bit do the work

Meaning take your time and don't force it. You will save yourself from having a pissed off inconvenient problem

it works well but i usually just go around the joints with some wood glue and let it sit overnight.

Use wood glue, and only wood glue.

yea and dont do it fast or the bit will break off and get stuck in the box, especially if its hot.

so take it kinda slow.
