Upgrading electrical big 3 & extra battery

Recommended Posts

Okay so I'm trying to get a estimate of how much wattage I can safely put out without harming my amp's by the voltage dropping.

I have a relatively small car, it has a 70 amp alt and I'm not sure about the battery.

I was originally going to just run 1000watts on stock electrical but I figured if I upgrade my electrical I can go a little bit bigger.

Now lets say I do the big 3 on my little car and I add a deep cycle battery in the back for the amp, how many more watts would I be able to run?

And one more thing when you have a voltmeter what is the danger zone in volts?

I think it was 11?

sounds like a plan... can you get a h/o alt for your car?

That's the thing, h/o doesn't make a alt for my car.

Could I use a 1500 watt amp without worrying?

i have 1/0 big three and when pushing hard with 1500 watts i drop to 10v, Ive been saving for an extra kinetik and then assume ill be fine, so to halfway answer your question... most likely you can do 1500 or so

Yup a '97 2 door Tercel.

I'm thinking about just doing big 3 and dropping a kinetik in the back and calling it a day.

You would have to have several large batteries to prevent it from dropping below 11.5....an alternator is the way to go....better alternator, the big 3, and then probably a better battery...hc1800 would be good....

Wow man thanks for the find on the alternator, I'm gonna have to order that tonight.

Now if I just knew how to install a alternator, hell I don't even know where my stock alt is.

Sounds good, I'm having a really hard time deciding between subs and amps and I'm trying to base it all on the electrical.
