what is the pre amp voltage in deck do?

what would be the difference between getting a 4 volt pre amp deck and a 5 volt pre amp?

its the voltage that comes out through the RCAs and goes to your amps. the higher your pre amp voltage, the less you have to turn your gain up. an advantage is with gettin to leave the gain lower, there is less noise amplification too. like engine whine.

i just purchased the eclipse cd7200 witch has 3 8 volt pre amp outputs

the only downfall is no internal amplifier but if your running amps on your speakers this unit is golden
