BL 15 box build

Recommended Posts

As I type this, I have yet to figure out how to get the pics of the build so far off the camera and cell phone and onto here, so any knowledgeable folks are welcome to jump in and help me out... Right now the box is together and the inside is painted, and I will be painting the outside with some textured stuff soon, or I'll just carpet it... Hopefully I get these pics on soon.

To send them from your camera, just email the pictures to yourself and download them to your computer. After the pictures are on your computer then you can upload them to a gallery on here or to a photo uploading website like photobuck and then attach them on here using the image tag in the posting toolbar.

Then try making a gallery on here and then adding the image from the gallery to your post using the image icon/link in the toolbar.

Yeah that's a no go. First I tried the mass upload: NO WAY.

Next I tried ONE PICTURE and still no good.

I got the dial-up blues man, that's all we get out by us, so I'm trying to email a picture at a time to photobucket, and we'll see how it goes. Otherwise to my friend joe's house, (HE'S got a satelite, but NO, those cost money, and we ain't spendin' none of that now, what with the economy and all and yadda yadda yadda, cause mom and dad just got 2 new GPS's... :angry2: )

Can't really talk crap though, it is their money, as all mine went to my BL!

Oh well.

Keep your eyes peeled for some photobucket links in the near future, (I hope)...

Painted the box and sanded all the edges yesterday and with some textured paint in gray, this thing looks like it's made out of stone.

I have a few pictures of the beginning off the project on photobucket.

And don't worry: that's not all of them. I'll have new pics up soon as I can.

The box without top assembled and painted. Assembly shots were lost to stupidity, (mine). Yeah, no 45s, but no one's perfect...

Here, in grandma and grandpa's, (box would not be possible without gpa's tools and woodworking knowledge/expertise), basement, we have something that is starting to look like a box...

samsbuildlog008.jpg

Wow... ummm...

samsbuildlog009.jpg

So I've never had a 15 before... Seems like it might be kinda scary for those not expecting this much bump in a wee little wagon... I'm excited to drop this baby in!

The cutout ID is 14 1/8" My hand looks so little... But I can play a 10th on a piano....

samsbuildlog010.jpg

Now I'm sure you are all wondering what kind of amp I've got...

Here's what I'm powering this baby with: A High Output Dog-Lifier!!!

That's my practice marimba at left...

O.K. so here is the box getting finished construction-wise, (cosmetics pics on the way soon)

Box with only single layer top:

Second layer in place:

Screwed, (lol), and waiting for the glue to dry:

samsbuildlog014.jpg

Maybe I went a little overboard with the clamps, but better safe than sorry...

The sub arrived on Wednesday last week, so it hasn't been in that long, but here is what I did with camera when it showed up...

Heavy duty packaging...

samsbuildlog017.jpg

Chrome dustcap

samsbuildlog018.jpg

I like the sticker on the magnet... I don't know why.
