Amp stable @ 1 ohm or 2 ohms?

Recommended Posts

My sub is dual .7 ohm and I'm planning to do 1.4 ohms, what will be the best amplifier for it stable at 1 ohms or 2 ohms?

TIA

So your driver is Dual 1ohm. You can wire it to 0.5ohm (not recommended) or 2ohms. Wiring Diagram

You can always get an amp stable to 1ohm for future use. Say in the future you get another dual 1ohm driver, then you can run the amp down to 1ohm. :)

Thank you for the inputs, I thought it will be better to use 1 ohm even my configuration is 2 ohms.

Just to clarify, you are reading the Direct Current Resistance(DCR) of your coils, they are in fact D1 coils.

Ok, thank you for pointing it out.

You can always get a regulated amplifier that will do the same power at either load.
