AMP Recommendation for my Kicker L7 12"

Recommended Posts

I bought a KICKER 11VS12L72 ("that box has a dual 4 woofer wired down to a 2 ohm load. So you want an amp that is 2 Ohm stable")

And I'm trying to find recommendations from the experts for an amp.

I am leaning towards the SoundStream DTR1.1700D that is on a sale for $188 online.

Might buy it tonight if I don't find anything better.

we need to know your budget before you are recommended anything....

I am new to this so sorry for my noob remarks.

My budget is $250, but $200 originally since I'm only powering 1 sub in my Cadillac STS 2006 w/ Factory Navigation the wires in the back are ready to connect the amp.

I need something 1000W RMS @ 2ohm everything is over my budget.

So I guess I should take advantage of this SoundStream DTR1.1700D sale before it goes out. 2yr warranty is better than anything that says 1yr.

Trying to get it this week already and have it hooked for the weekend.

Thanks

If you're going to get a Hifonics amp go with the BRZ 1200.1 or 1700.1 they're CEA certified. If you're only running 1 L7 the 1200.1 will work and you'll save money, but if you want to upgrade later I would go with the 1700.

The BRZ amps are higher end models of the two links you put up and they're about the same price.

I wanted to ask if I have my levels right ?

Level 0.2V

Phase 180

Bass EQ 10dB

SubSonic 15

LOW Pass above 35 but less than 250

Screen+Shot+2011-08-02+at+10.27.14+AM.png

it looks like you have the level cranked all the way you need to back way off of the level or you'll fry that amp and sub... Phase should be at 0, Bass EQ at 0, SubSonic should be set around the tuning of your box if it's ported, if your box is sealed you can leave it...Low pass filter looks like it's fine
