Can i hook up diferent impeadence speakers to my headunit?

Recommended Posts

I have an Alpine headunit not sure of the model at the moment.

I have all 4 ohm speakers hooked up rite now.

If i were to hook up in exaple two 8 ohm speakers.. Would i mess up my headunit fom the diferent impeadences?

Maybe a noobish question but i've never tried it.

Thanks for the help.

Exactly how would you be hooking up the speakers? Series? Parallel? Series-parallel?

Like two 4 ohm on front and two 8 ohm on the rear? That should be fine.

I wouldn't do it. I doubt the HU is meant to run anything below 4 ohms.
