I think the dd-1 is a good tool for setting gains. Me and my friends yet to lose a sub. Knock on wood

But which song gets picked to set it with.

 

Not all music is recorded the same.

Buget would be about 500 for subs and enclosure.

I used dd-1 on track 5 to set gains 0 gauge run to amp. Let me know if I'm wrong I want learn. That's why I wanted to try dcons because of there sensitivity. Get loud on less power

Track 5 on there cd is 40 hz constant at -10 db. Track 3 40@ -5 db. And track 7 is -15db.

And tens of millions of others have yet to loose a sub.  The just spent about $200 less doing so.

Its useful for me and friend 5 guys for 120 bucks I'm game. 25 bucks really.

A DMM at home depot is $10 bucks.  Just as useful, actually more useful.

That's so disgustingly generic. 

 

Back to your original question. Are you willing to wait for the DCON's to be back in stock? Otherwise you'll have to raise your budget obviously, try to find used woofers, or get smaller speakers to stay within your budget.

not being a dick just telling you like it is.  A DD1 is not capable of detecting clipping or distortion accurately.  A scope is useless because music is dynamic it causes fluctuations in power thats why speakers and amps are rated at RMS (root mean square----look this term up).  secondly it is impossible to set a d class amp with a scope.  read here---   http://ap.com/products/accessories/aux0100

After modeling the dcons in same box I don't think they will have the low end I want. The xcon modeled the best.

That is impossible to know, especially the specs of the new Dcon's have not been released.

3.4@ 33 then I cut port back so now at 3.8 @ 38 but its louded but don't sound that good. Want to try 5.0 at 30 or 28 hertz.
