I will probably try the bigger boxes later. For now I want to experiment with the best sound out of smaller boxes. Probably try a box 3ft sealed per sub with bracing and rounded inside corners. Then 3ft tuned to about 30hz.

I won a company that builds custom shipping crates so I have all the resources around me all day. all sorts of ideas go through my head while Im workin.

Sounds like you need to EQ the drivers a little. Get some decent measurement equipment and try to flatten out the response. I'm sure once you do that you'll have the best sounding system you have ever heard!

I was meaning 2 4in ports per sub. Not even sure that will be enough though. Actually if I do a vented box I will probably just build a huge vented box and install it only for comps or something like that.
