Pricey.

But, nothing else to say besides I haven't heard an install with them yet that has sounded bad.

If you can afford it, why not? :)

$500 for a 350 a 4ohm/650 @2ohm monoblock from a local shop...

...or should I go with an Orion HCCA monoblock of equal size?

...or maybe a US Amps Exterminator monoblock?

...or should I wait for the Sundown smaller monoblock?

...or should I grab a JL Audio 500/1?

I can't decide...

not every amp has to be 10000000 watts and sound like ass!!

There are some people that like low poered amps that sound good----what a dumb response

"Underpowered" is relative depending on the efficiency of your speakers, not the price of the amplifier :)

Whether it's a good value or not is another question.

For how much you pay, you dont get much power

Other high quality amps offer more wattage for the dollar

any of those ideas would work, but different amplifers all together

Jim ... most of these guys are boomers ..... anything less than 1000 watts RMS is too low to even show up on their radar. I personally like to over-power in an SQ setup for headroom ... cars are noisy environments.

Don't pass judgement unless you have actually heard these things. It is true, these are not boomhead amplifiers.

Comparing them to Xterminator Series amplifiers is ludicrus.

A local shop has them so its not like i dont know what they are :P

Im no boomer but i like to have headroom and the audison amps dont really offer that.

i don't think they are ugly...

two, i don't see where they are overpriced compared to other namebrand amps...pdx4-150=$800 at a local shop, seen it for as high as $1100 online...pdx 1-1000= $1000 at a local shop, seen as high as $1200 online and they give you what?? small footprint? and yeah, i'm picking on alpine a bit, but it's just for comparision....

yeah, there are good amps out there cheaper, but some of those cheaper amps aren't going to compare quality wise.

if they fit your budget, your power demands, are aesthicitly (spell?) pleasing and it's a brand you want...go for it.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

Well said. I think they are sweet, albeit too expensive for my frugal arse.

I haven't used the LRx models or seen/heard them installed, but I have loved my VRx's while they were installed. They have found a temp home on my dining table until the rest of the equipment comes in however.

Updated list:

1. Audison

2. Orion Hcca

3. Eclipse

Any other options???

...however, the amp has to be fused under 60 amps (60 or less).

If Sundown made a smaller monoblock, I would get it in a heartbeat.

When you add DLS you might as well add Tru & Zapco.

why not look at zed audio, they are a forum on here. but i never hear anybody talk about them :ughdunno:

I love their amplifers, hence the reason I brought Stephen M and ZED on here, the Minilith might be the amp he needs. High end internals at not quite high end prices.
