how to fix my problem?

well i noticed yesterday when i was listening to late night tip that my sub bottoms out on one of the bass lines... how might i go about fixing this ?? i got a 15Q powered by an hk401sx

Turn it down and don't play below tuning, might want to examine your SSF settings as well.

SSF?? i went in the back and looked at my amp settings and my bass boost was all the way up.. :o so i turned that down and i think i stopped it... but is that the only way ?? oo ya the box is tuned to 30.. if thats what your talking about...

Bass boost = bad news bears. Really wish they wouldn't put that junk on amps.

Anyhow, subsonic filters are used to cut the frequencies below tuning waaaaaaay back so you don't unload the sub and bottom them out.

I've got a Q12 in a 2.0 cu ft box tuned to 33 hz on a 2000 watt US Amps, low pass crossover at 100 hz and a SSF at 27hz. I beat the holy hell out the Q and it won't bottom out.

But it it gets hot and starts to smell funny. I've yet to hear any suspenion noise from it, even when playing Late Night Tip

Defintely turn down the bass boost and check the SSF.
