I guess it's time to post up the build log since I'm almost done with the wall. The build? 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser 12^3 wall tuned to 40Hz 2 RE MT 18" D1's 2 RD Audio D9's @5ohm each 1 DD C5b 4 Channel 5 Deka G31's Mike SInger 240amp alt To much 1/0 to talk about. Started by re-running ALL wire to behind where the wall will be. Ran the 1/0 out the side panel all fancy like. Started preparing for the wall. Then, it started. Got sides and baffle layers glued together and assembled. After all that, I silicone and braced it up. Got that handled, it was time to seal it off. And that's were I sit as of tonight, 4/10/…

Ok, so this guy from Calgary ordered up some subs a little over a year ago for his home theatre setup. A little over a month ago, he phones me again telling me they aren't enough. We start sharing info and I find out he was the Canadian car audio champion back in the early 90's. So after a 17+ year hiatus, it just so happens that Big Dave is planning to get back into the car audio scene once again. He calls himself 'Big Dave' for just reason - he's bigger than me and has that deep, husky voice you can only associate with men of larger stature. Eight IXL-12's, four MLI-65's and a 2000 Ford F250 bought primarily for car audio, this should be a very interesting build. He…

I'm going to quadruple this setup in a few months, but I pulled the trigger and bought one so I could do some testing. Not just on the sub, but I have alts that I like to test in-vehicle, and I can move 1 18 that can handle a ton of power around from vehicle to vehicle pretty easy. This temporary setup is 1 18 TSNS in 5ft net @ 35Hz. It's 70sq of port and kerfed. Amp is an American Bass 1000.1 @ 4 ohms with 3 D3100s and 1 240a alternator. Having owned numerous beefy subs I will say the weight and size of the motor on this thing makes it the most impressive looking. 102 lb ship weight The sub has direct 8g leads, using Raptor wire. The Raptor is on the left, …

  23. for those of you that didnt see in the other thread, i took the first one out. i really wasn't happy with it once i thought about it. this one, already with the false floor, is coming out alot better. the floor is 2 layers thick. the first layer is bolted with 1/2" x 2.5" bolts in the rear, and up front its tite bonded, and screwed to those 2x4's u see under there. the 2x4's themselves are also bolted to the body with the same bolts. none-the-less, its very sturdy, and not gonna budge. the 2nd layer is self explanatory, its to make is 100% level (to cover the bolt heads used to bolt the first layer down) and to clarify, the cuts i made on the rear cross-member, to get tho…

  24. It has begun. For those not familiar here is a recap: http://www.soundsolu...of-double-dees/ For now this is just a box and sub replacement, and everything that comes with it. The goods: The box design: Estimated frequency response graph. O_o I decided to spruce up the box design just a bit by adding some windows. Just a little something to show off the insanity of the sub's motor design. It's not eveyday you get to see something this gonzo nuts. Here is a little test of the line of site. The red strip represents where the sub will be. You might have to close one eye to get the full effect in person. More on the way.
