The thing I think we are all getting at is peoples ears are all different. What one person may like will be different from others. What someone calls "loud" wont be loud to someone else. And if you go by what someone says and waste money on getting it, then by all means listen to what people say. But honestly I have been searching for awhile for some speakers to replace my phoenix gold components (which are actually great bang for the buck and handle 125rms) but the main two things I read are: 1. Go active. Research and accomplish this and you will get a great sounding front stage. 2. Go to a shop and listen to their selection of speakers and see what is "loud" but also clear. Not muddy. Not too high on the highs. Not too sharp but clear. Ive had people say their comps are the best as being loud and yes they were loud in a sense but the tweets were TOO harsh for my ears and weren't for me. So this is why I go to audio shops (usually high end) and listen to the different brands and see which ones are suitable for my liking and also loud. 3. 3-way setup but this is also kind of advanced and usually requires fabrication and such. Those are what I get out of this forum but also other forums as well. I guess it is just annoying to others because I have literally seen "which component" threads in the last 2-3 weeks almost pop up every week. So to people who have been long time members it may just start to get at you. But to each his own. Lets be civil. And lets get back to the passion of car audio. But yea check out the phoenix gold rsd65cs they are relatively cheap and sound great.

Just Because It Reccommends That Amount Of Space Doesn't Mean You Need To Run It At That, Especially With A Crapfonics Bootus. Like I Was Saying, A Box That Small Is For Something That Is Used Mostly Or Only For SPL Applications. (Competition Only.) I Run Mine In 7.2 Cubic Feet After All Displacements, Because I'm Running 4kw To It, If I Was Running Less Power I Would Have Made The Box Bigger, More Power, Smaller. I Say Go With Performance Over Looks, But It's Up To You. A 15" In An Optimal Box Will Always Outdo An 18" In A Constrained One. Bigger Is Only Better When You Have The Electrical And Space To Back It Up, Bar None. I Actually Think You'd Do Better With Something Like BL's, Again, It's All Your Decision. I'd Do The Electrical Beef-up Way Before You Even Think Of Installing Anything Else. The Subwoofer And Everything That Goes Alog With It At This Point Should Be The Last Thing You're Thinking About. jay-cee, You Da Man, Wish We Had More Helpful Folks Around Here Like You. Thanks to everyone at Fi Car Audio. So much for 3-7 days lead time...Ordered Saturday and was shipped Mon or Tues. Decided to go back from the Aq Hdc315 to the new 09 Bl 15. It's great to have the Fi SQ back. And god does it just absolutely slam and hit the notes with absolute accuracy. Especially, during rock double bass. Ive seen little about the 09 BL so I thought I would post my thoughts and pics. This is my 3rd Fi sub and every time, I am happy about the money and time spent. Can't wait to put more time and it and see how she does after break in. Sincerely, Mike Giessen Mike Giessen Racing inc.

Hello. I know this probably an annoying question, but if some one could give me an honest opinion I would really appreciate it. I have a 2007 Tahoe with 2 12w6v2's. They are in a ported box at the manufactures specs of 1.5 cubic ft per driver. It definitely sounds good. I am real happy with the box design and how the whole system intergrates into my vehicle. I have a Sundown 2000d on the way. I realize this is too much power but I wanted to have room for upgrades. I was looking at the specs on the 10 Icon and it looks like it would be a good match for this setup. I believe I could modify my box to hold the tens without too much trouble and at the same time keep my design in tact. I was wondering if 1, these drivers would work in 1.5 ported chamber each tuned to about 32 hz, and 2, would I be able to achieve the same amount of output as the 12w6's even though I will be losing cone area? Honestly I wouldn't mind having a little more output than what I have now. Sorry for being long winded.

Well after discovering Denim was a pet lover, i found out Jay-Cee was as well, so here are some pics of our Boxers. Only two live at home now, when our Grandson was announced to be borned, we made room. i will add pictures as they turn up, i have quite a few! please enjoy. all of our boxers were rescue boxers! our first Boxer and by far the best. Katy Mama our next boxer was Jazz, she was due to be put to sleep one week from when we found her. Jasmine (Jazz) our next one was Mercedes , she is in the background of this photo. Her owner was called to go to Iraq, never to return. Thank you God for our soldiers! Also Kujo Bandaress Barrett, he was a tough S.O.B. ! he is on the right hand side.

They will get your sub woofers to you. No need to stress out. On top of a few people being sick at Fi, they were in the midst of moving and had the massive load of orders come in from the Black FiDay sale. Trust me, they work long days trying to crank out orders as fast as they can with out sacrificing quality. If it takes a couple of extra days, it is worth it for the price you paid and the high quality American hand made drivers you are going to get.

Jammer, you need to chill. One of the requirements of the board is to take recommendations, whether you use them or not is up to you. I will say that I don't think your thread has gone very well (which is only the fault of the person who creates it) but that is easily fixed. "Not loud enough" isn't specific at all. I know for sure you are lacking midbass, but I also know for sure there is no way in hell you'll get enough midbass with any set of $200 speakers. So your effed there. It is also amusing to me that you are looking at downgrading your front comp set and expect it to be louder. Just swapping one set of components for another that are in the same price range isn't going to do anything to fix your solution...but you are too busy pissing on people in your own thread to actually help funnel the help in the right direction. So everyone in here. Take a step back, re-focus the conversation on helping this Jammer. Although this first means he needs to outline his install, listening preferences, dislike of his current setup and other things listed in the noob posting guildelines (they are in my sig).

People put 2k rms on these things daily, but it just isn't recommended... Unless your a crazy rubber ducker and are trying to make your head explode. Seriously though, they have high sensitivity ratings and they'll blow a lot of other subs away on 1000 watts. Right now I only have mine on 600 and it still pounds, so if you are worried that the bare bones BL isn't going to have enough strength to handle what you're gonna throw at it then you'd better be competing... Go ahead and get it fully loaded though, I did.

Hey off topic question, where are you from miles? because this blazer is from a local shop here in Missouri. i was actually gonna buy it!

Why not go active if your looking for a midrange and tweeter combo? (just curious)

One set of components would most likely not be able to keep up with a 15 BTL if it's being run even close to it's full potential...... but, to answer your question, there's alot of sets available that could do well, if you're budget limited, Image Dynamics CTX65CS components are really nice, Phoenix Gold RSD6.5CS, PPI 365CS to name just a few.... all with pretty good SQ and get fairly loud too... it would be best if you could listen to some before you buy to see if you can find the ones that sound best to you.... also, make sure that you read up on proper installation practices, just sticking them in the factory hole and calling it a day IS NOT proper installation.... Sound deadening, acoustic damping, MDF baffles and more make up the recipe for a proper installation....

I am sure the RD is a piece of shit. I don't think your goals are in line with reality though and you could get by with a much louder "less sq" oriented sub. SQ isn't important to you at all, you just don't want a fart box. That is easy to achieve.

are there any subs that would work in the said 1.5 ft ported per chamber(tuned to 32hz) that would sound good but have more output than the 12w6's? If I have to rebuild the box to get more output i will, but I would like to make sure before I go to that trouble. I would love to stick with a 12 driver but I know that airspace is a little small. If it matters I listen to rock / metal, so I don't care too much about extreme lows. Ads I stated in my original post, my amp is a sundown 2000d. I want to feel that kick drum in my chest. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I would love to use something like a 12 icon but i know that my box is not enough as it is right now.

Q vs. BL vs. 9512 vs. HD3. Oh, and the 9515 hanging out in the background.

No the Aq is in perfect condition. That's how it came from the factory. The Fi is much better anyway

Mechanical failure is when something physically breaks because either 1) there is either a malfunction in the driver due to manufacturing error (poor glue joint, etc) or 2) you exceed the physical limitations of the driver (i.e. overexcursion). If it moves, it can break.

You NEED to share what you don't like otherwise you will end up just wasting money. Buying a new sub may not be the solution.

I know this is an old thread, but you cant use the IB3 in a Scion XA Because you dont have a trunk you have a hatch, and that sub is Infinite Baffle Only which means you need a trunk!

That's entirely dependant upon too many things. What type of box? Ported? What frequency is the port? What is the resonant frequency of the car? I could go on for days about this. Pick one or the other, it'll be a 50/50 chance either way.

Your still going on about it, glad I got under your skin enough for you to keep responding to me (haha). Now you got some recommendations and your still on this pissing contest we had which I won , get over yourself. Just like Denim said let it go but you are still running your mouths like , not going to say it since the Mod said let it go but yall get the picture. Dude let it go so your topic can stay open and you can get more recommendations.

A dog farting into a megaphone sounds better than an L7 in a ported box. That is an absolutely awful awful awful enclosure choice for that woofer. Seal it or don't bother, and make it a big sealed box. Try this to test SQ. Cover up the port. I bet it sounds 100x better.

Btw, I doubt a real "grown ass man" would resort to a comment like that...it basically shows your level of maturity, and it's obviously really low.

You didnt get under my skin, I'm enjoying this. Its fun to show people theyre idiots. Now I think everyone would appreciate it if we stuck to my topic. So Jay-cee and bigrank916 should basically stop theyre ranting.
