Usamps Xterminator XT4000D 3rd party testing...

Recommended Posts

Bigg Boy at ***** Audio benched with an o-scope on a current XT4000D:

38.2v at 1 ohm with my voltage being around 15v-14.8v

^^^ there you have it and thanks a lot!

soooooo you're saying they power ratings are overrated for the everyday user?

that doesnt tell us anything...

38.2v @ 1ohm...

Is that 1 ohm nominal... pretty hard to get @1ohm exactly.

What is resistance during the test?

What is amperage output?

How much clipping involved if any?

What is DCR?

I thought maybe i was experiencing a brain fart when i couldn't figure the wattage with the info given lol

Volts mean nothing without amps?

This is pretty basic stuff.

I = V/R so Current = 38.2/1 = 38.2 Amps

P = VI So power = 38.2x38.2 = 1459 Watts.

Inductance is the thing that will interfere with your calculations. You will most likely see well over 1 ohm actual impedance so those basic formulas do not apply :(

If the guy who benched it had a non-inductive load, TRD's math is spot on :D

I can tell you that it was done with a non-inductive load and it was actually a 0.9 ohm load.

I want a load like that :)
