Dennis' Mach 5 Bitch Van Build Log

Recommended Posts

Here it starts - Dennis' Mach 5 Audio 'Bitch' van build.

Dennis was kind enough to donate one of his vans to the cause of getting down and dirty on what I would call a budget-based high volume vehicle. Since he hasn't started a build log, I decided to "help" him out. :D

I'll let Dennis post info on the van make, model, amps used, and any other logistics that he feels are necessary. We met this passed weekend and measured things out - it is looking like eight (8) IXL-15.2.2 units will be fitted based on idea exchanges.

So, hopefully with any luck, you will get updates from the both of us over the course of weeks. Now that the weather has FINALLY decided to cooperate, things should start moving.

Dennis, you're up... :)

Surprise! You can start by taking some pictures of your empty van to give folks an idea of the area we are working with. Then some shots of those nice amps you have. And of course, your head unit...

I'll take care of the sub part..

Can't do that. Those who view the pictures would need to be wearing welding goggles. Since I can't guarantee that would happen, we can't expose these good people to such blinding torture.. :neil:

This should be sweet. With the IXL lines strength of the low lows, a low tuned bass race van would be fun. :)

We acquired the wood over the weekend - a mix of Birch and Fir Plywood - so with luck I should start construction in a couple of days. I have a mess called a garage to clean first...
