here's the quick sketch to give you an idea... I don't have anything but copy paper and a pencil so that's how it's drawn up.. looks like a 3yr old drew it :)

port sides "are" flush with the side

written like a 3yr old as well :)

yep

6 tall 15wide 22 long port gives you roughly 34 hz... pending on how you brace (it's actually a 33 hz tuning but after displacement of bracing you should be right around 34... I didn't plan any bracing for you.) My general rule... brace each solid panel atleast every 18 inches

quick question all throughout the hurricane i tried figuring out how im going to do this, and so i take it i have to have the port inside the box? meaning instead of having just 7 pieces without including the double baffle, why is there 9? i have to have "walls" for the port? meaning i have to have 2 "sides" ?

i think i know what you meant, but just want to clear this up correctly and not do something dumb.

yes the ports have sides... It's easier to assemble that way.. you can do away with them if you like and increase the port length...

I put the port together first and assemble the rest of the box (excluding the bottom.) line the port up, glue/secure it, then put the bottom on.. that way you have the sides of the ports to anchor the port to the box... for me it's easier that way.. I somtimes build several a day so I have my own little methods to get them done quicker.

one more question rushnrun, you put these specs

2 20x48

2 16.5x28

1 16.5x18.5

1 (16.5 minus port heigth) x 18.5

1 18.5x(port length)

2 (port length+.75") x (port height)

since theres 2 48" boards, shouldn't there be 4 then? this stumps me.

yeah, i cut all the pieces yesterday and i just tried to piece them together and there is no way with those pieces a way for it to be a box.

its not put together, just laid the pieces together to see how it would look, and thats what it came out to. in a while im going to go out and cut the sides to length then put it together.

wow sorry man I haven't been oh here today. The 28 was a typo-shoulda been 48.. when I copied and pasted I didn't catch the typo

use one of the extra's-{the sides that are too short}-- to double up under the sub (on the inside of the box-you'll have to cut 1.5" off the width.

then you'll need two boards 48 long instead of 28.. sorry again.. can't believe I missed that typo... :(

looking good though
