MDF or just plywood?

i want to build a box but i cant find MDF wood any were so i was wondering if useing ply wood would make a big difference

damn you guys are lucky! wood is kinda expensive here, like $40 for a 49"x97" MDF sheet

Acutally Birch is virtually void free thats the beauty of it. its how its processed the more solid would cores, verus chips and pieces in regular ply wood
