Looking to upgrade and learn

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, new to these forums, can already tell I'll be around for awhile. :)

I've been reading on these forums for the past week doing some research into buying a new system for my car..

Current setup:

96 Volvo 850 GLT (8 factory surround speakers)

Clarion DXZ775USB CD Receiver

2 x 12" Infinity Kappa Perfect 12VQ - medium pole pieces inserted

Qlogic Type 2 Slot Vent, Double 12" Hatchback Enclosure, 1.50 cu.ft. X 2, Tuned to 37 Hz.

1 x Infinity Reference amp 1300a

1 x Optima Yellowtop (currently only battery in car)

1 x Stinger 1.2F cap (not currently using)

Fat mat on trunk/license plate

Currently looking at:

Upgrade big 3

Move battery to trunk

1 x Sundown 1200.1 v2 or SAZ-1500D

1 x Treo SSX 12"

Welcome and no need to use the cap at all if your electrical is done right.

Good to hear.. then I can sell it (Stinger HPM) toward the Treo SSX 12".. looking to replace that first.. and later on the amp

x2, sell the cap. How stuck on the Treo SSX are you, did you check out any subwoofers from the SSA store? Great choice on amplifiers also and what are you gonna do with the old equipment (just curious since I have a friend who is wanting to do an all Infinity Setup in his new car as he did in his previous car, cant talk him out of it so Im gonna let him get what he wants since its his money and im just installing).

I'm not too stuck on the Treo's.. also looking at the SSA Icon/Xcon series.. Sundown Nightshade.. RE SXX or XXX... a few others

I'm willing to sell the Infinity subs/amp.. need the box as well? They're barely used.. and you might want to check out the infinity ref 1600 amp as well
