2 rl-i8s ported

Recommended Posts

I am looking to build a ported box for a pair of rl-i8s. The maximum trunk space I can give up is 37.5x16.5x8.5. Can I build a ported box this small and would these subwoofer be good for this setup? I am also considering useing 2 or 3 Crystal CMP8s. I am looking mostly for SQ but want those extra low tones a ported box can give.

Thanks

Thats more than enough space for 2 RL-i's

P.S

RL-i looks better than a CMP-8 :D

Kent, have you ever heard an RE8?

nope. heard good things about them, but never experienced them myself. only re woofer i've heard was the xxx...and after all the hype, i was disappointed with it. (as everyone knows)

i dont own one either, but i was just interested in a comparison between the RL-i8 and the RE8

my friend has 2 of the REs in his truck so i know what they sound like

well, considering power, i beileve the rl-i would kill it in output. and that isn't even taking into consideration xmax or anything.

also, from playing with the rl-p vs xxx, i'd imagine the rl-i would at least sound as good, or better...

but then there is the price. u can buy what, 2 of the re's for one rl-i? and then there is CS, and re can't hold mike's jock in that.

but i wouldn't mind throwin a few at each other...have ur friend send me his...

muhahahaha

Thanks for the help. I will probably be buying the subs in about a month, depending on how the cash flow is. (I am also going to be buying some components). So I guess I will go 1.5cuft. Trying to use winisd I can't get my numbers right so I may just have some draw plans for me. Also, does anyone have an amp recomendation for a pair of the rl-i8s?
