can a dc lvl 4 be used in a sealed box?

Recommended Posts

is it possible to put my 12'' dc lvl 4 in a sealed box?

(ran @ 1000w off of an SAZ1500)

the site doesn't recommend any specifications for a sealed box.

Right now I have it in a 32.5 hz ported box (2 cu ft before displacement).

#1 what do you think the frequency range for my 32.5 hz ported box should be?

#2, what would the frequency range for said sealed box be?

I'd like my bass response to be louder in the higher ranges, so I'd like to see if making a sealed box is a possible option?

I used to have 2 12'' (older) kicker cvr's in a sealed box, and their response for rock songs were a lot louder than my single DC's.

whoops sorry about that!

I drive an 02 mazda protege ES, sedan.

No idea what kind of numbers I hit, I don't have a db meter.

:lol::lol:

I would email Rusty. I would think that a LVL 4 would be better suited for a vented alignment.

I wouldnt see why not.. The effective bandwith is within the suggested parameters for a sealed box... but Rusty would know best.
