SAZ-3000D enough power?

Recommended Posts

Ok, I have a SAZ-3000D that i will be using on 3 dual 2 ohm aa havocs in a 6.2 cube enclosure tuned to 32hz. My question is, will this amp be enough power to push them to their potential? I have the big three done in 1/0, dual runs to the rear, 3x yellowtops in rear, redtop up front and mechman 270A alt. What kind of power can i expect from this setup out of this amp? I been thinking of upgrading to a saz-3500d, but is the trade off worth it? If i will only be gaining 200-300 wrms then ill just keep the 3000d. Feel free to chime in and give your feedback on this. Thanks

I think you'd be happiest with a 4500 wired to 1.33 ohms.

3000D won't push them to their full potential, 3500D, only a few more watts, you'll only see maybe a 2-3 db gain over the 3000D, maybe even less.

4500D will give you 1500 to each at 1 ohm, 1.33, good electrical, good amp, probably close to that # still, as these amps are very nice.

500 watts will get you 2-3 dB?

No, it won't. Going from 3000 to 3500 watts will yield, oh......maybe .5 db.

with 3k already, you'll be lucky to get .5dB with 500 watts extra.

Then don't waste the money on 500 more watts that you won't hear.

Oh yeah more power or else they won't work! Oh wait that's a stupid, completely idiotic way of thinking.

Well maybe if he was running at 250watts, that would be double the power, potential 3 db gain, wasn't really thinking, 3000 to 3500, would only be around a .5 db gain in a perfect environment I suppose.

I did say maybe less...But, that 3000D will run ~ 2400-2700 watts would you say @ 1.33 ohms, a 4500D, would run closer to 3200-3500 watts...still only ~800 more watts.

Get another 3000D strapped at .66 ohms per amp, now that's the ticket! lol... Not really worth it, plus that would be a little too much for the subs and low ohms for a daily.

The 3500D excels on a reactive load - you can see around 1 dB at a 1 ohm load vs. a 3000D.
