Port area? When is too much?

Recommended Posts

Wassup y'all, I'm about to start a box for a 21 in death penalty. I'm going for 9 cubes at 30hz with 3 8in aero ports which equals 150in of port area. Is that too much? I've heard the sub will not handle much power? Someone help me out haha

Ask the manufacturer. They know their drivers better than anyone else.

IDK, The box I planned for my 21in DP is 10cubes with 165in of slot port in a truck also.

They say up to 160 so you should be ok.

Oh ok I've heard that if there is too much port area is decreases power handling. Hey um what are the benefits of going with a lot of port area?? Thanks

Port area has nothing to do with power handling, only internal volume effects power handling.

"Too much" vent area depends on the driver used.
