Um with 8,000w you'll need to produce over 800amps to not have drop.

sorry to hijack this thread. bassahaulic you're saying the math is every 1000w you need an extra 100amp +or-. i'm just wondering if i'm going to need :morepower1: for my system.

He was averaging, but that's a good rule of thumb, the formula is:

Amperage x Voltage= Wattage

He was averaging, but that's a good rule of thumb, the formula is:

Amperage x Voltage= Wattage

You know as well as me you have to factor amplifier efficiency which can range from 65-95% depending on the class of the amp.

I was running a PB 5k off of 2 Deka's and dropping no lower than 13v, now that I have two D3100's instead of the deka's I don't drop below 14v full tilt with a stock 190 amp alt.
